Each map is built as a true multi-piece construction. Every county is cut as a separate element, stained individually, and assembled by hand. The county borders are not engraved lines—they are physical seams, giving the surface real texture and depth.
At the center is the raised state name, built as a two-layer inlay. A structured outer frame creates contrast, while the inner insert sits flush inside it. This layered approach adds dimension without overpowering the map itself.
